Rusty the Ranch Horse was a real ranch horse that taught many lessons. Western kids' author Mary Fichtner and her daughter and illustrator starting writing children's stories about him to begin their Read for the Brand Children's Book Series.

With seven kids' books in all, Rusty brings fun and life lessons for kids ages 4-10. Some of his stories are faith-based.
